250 Years of American Independence
CACD is delighted to announce our exciting new project, 250 Years of
American Independence: Shared Histories, Shared Futures.
The project has been made possible through funding from the
Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade Reconciliation Fund.
Using the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of
Independence as a shared and neutral reference point, the programme
will create opportunities for people from across our communities to
explore themes including democracy, migration, identity and political
change.
Throughout the winter months, participants will take part in a range of
engaging discussions, workshops and interactive activities, exploring
the historical and cultural connections between Ireland, the United
States and our own communities. It will also be an opportunity to meet
others interested in exploring these themes and contributing to
meaningful conversations about our shared histories and shared
futures.
